The Return of the Founding Fathers – A Theatre Play by Newports Institute Students

The students of Newports Institute of Communications & Economics delivered a thought-provoking theatrical performance titled The Return of the Founding Fathers. The play began with a celebratory announcement of Pakistan’s independence and then fast-forwarded to present-day Pakistan, where the founding fathers—Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Iqbal, and Liaquat Ali Khan—returned to witness the state of the nation they once envisioned

As they walked through various facets of modern society, including a supermarket, airport, university, and a political rally, the founding fathers expressed their dismay at the struggles of the common man and the stark contrast between their vision and the current reality. Their observations shed light on critical issues like social inequality, political turmoil, and the loss of national values.

Despite the somber reflections, the play concluded on a hopeful note with powerful speeches from the founding fathers. They inspired the youth and audience to reignite their dedication toward building a prosperous and united Pakistan.

The Return of the Founding Fathers was a masterful blend of history and contemporary challenges, leaving the audience both reflective and motivated. The students’ performance was lauded for its creativity, relevance, and impactful messaging.
