Newports Institute of Communications & Economics held its Open House & Orientation Fall 2024 on 23rd September, welcoming a large number of newly admitted students and prospective candidates from various colleges seeking admissions. The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the National Anthem, instilling a sense of pride and unity among the participants.
One of the highlights of the event was the oath-taking ceremony, where students pledged to use their education and knowledge for the betterment of society. This symbolic commitment underscored the institute’s emphasis on molding future leaders who are dedicated to creating a positive impact.
In an exclusive area dedicated to student counseling, guidance on scholarships and financial aid was provided by the institute’s counselors. This initiative aimed to ensure that deserving students have access to the financial support needed to pursue higher education at Newports Institute.
A key segment of the event, titled Meet the Rector & Team, featured motivational speeches by Dr. Huma Bukhari, the Rector of Newports Institute, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aslam Uqaili, and Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan. Dr. Bukhari inspired the students with her words on the importance of willpower, dedication, and the pursuit of excellence, emphasizing how these values will shape their academic journey. Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan and Dr. Uqaili also encouraged students to become part of the institute’s growing community, emphasizing the personalized attention and support each student receives.
The students had the opportunity to meet counselors from each department, who provided detailed guidance on their respective degree programs and the promising career prospects each offered. This interactive session helped students gain valuable insights into their future academic pathways.
A job fair was organized as part of the event, where leading banks, software houses, and other companies offered job and internship opportunities to Newports Institute students. This initiative provided a platform for students to explore professional opportunities and kickstart their careers.
In a show of social responsibility, the institute also arranged a blood donation camp on the premises, encouraging students and staff to contribute to a meaningful cause.
