Newports Institute is a strong family of 2,000 students and around 17,000 graduates who are now placed at well-known companies or are successful entrepreneurs. To ensure the satisfaction of our students, we have a dedicate Office of Student Affairs. It is our prime responsibility to ensure the well-being of our students and the Office of Student Affairs ensures that by providing professional help.
The Office of Student Affairs is a point of contact for all the students starting from their admission till graduation. The students can approach this office in person, call or via email. All information regarding different activities, events and competitions is accessible through this office.
The students are provided with an upgraded CMS system which can be used to address all academic and non-academic issue throughout the semester. The students are provided with a username and password to access the CMS at the time of admission.
Classrooms at Newports Institute are specifically designed and equipped to provide an environment conducive to learning, accessorized with appropriate teaching and learning tools to promote learning in a comfortable environment.
The computer labs consist of fully networked computers with high-speed Internet access. Computer Labs hardware and software are upgraded to ensure the availability of the modern computing facilities for the benefit of our students. Newports Institute provides separate labs for general computational work and CAD applications for its students. The institute is equipped for the shift in education and for online/distance learning operations. Because its commitment to impart quality education at all levels, the institute has fully established and functional labs. Free Wi-Fi is available for students who benefit from high-speed internet on campus.
Newports Institute of Communications and Economics has published two open-access Research Journals in the field of Information and Communication Technology called JICTRA (Journal of Information and Communication Technologies and Robotic Applications) in Category-X of HEC Recognized Journals. The second Research Journal is in the field of Management Sciences called NICE Research Journal in Category-Y of HEC Recognized Journals.
With its commitment to impart quality education at all levels, Newports Institute has established 14 LABs. These LABs meet the core requirements of B-Tech and BS programs. The experiments in each of these LABs are conducted by students under the supervision of experienced faculty and staff. The following LAB facilities are available to B-Tech and BS- Technology students;
Newports Institute also consists of a workshop equipped with Machining facilities and a variety of hand tools for B-Tech and BS students. Students can learn a variety of key skills required for employment in the competitive and ever-growing manufacturing Industry.
Sports and Recreational Facilities
We firmly believe that staying physically fit is as important as staying mentally fit. In this regard, Newports Institute provides its students with experienced instructors who help the students in sports such as cricket, football, badminton, tennis and etc. The students are also provided with a recreational area consisting of a small basketball area, table tennis, hand ball, chess table etc.
The institute consists of a self-service cafeteria serving delicious cuisine and snacks. Students are provided with a cafeteria having congenial and a healthy atmosphere with a variety of edible items to choose from. Newports Institute ensures that our students get a healthy and hygienic environment.
The students are taken on industrial visits by the institute. Students of different degree programs are taken on visits to the industries of their respective course or degree. The industrial/companies visits are supervised by the concerned departments and administration staff members.
Newports Institute has a fully equipped music room for its students. Consisting of guitars, drums, darbuka, piano and other musical instruments. Newport allows all its students to use the music room (under the supervision of a Music Society Executive Member) throughout the week. Vocal and Guitar classes take place every week and they enable students to learn the art of music and singing from trained teachers.
Keeping in view the importance of communication, Newports Institute integrated Management, Faculty and Students through Web TV to provide a larger platform online. Newports Institute Web TV is part of arduous efforts for the development of Corporate Liaisons, Market Demands, and Liberal Arts, and to explore their potential and growth in society. Web TV will also help in personal development, expressions, voice control, and confidence-building and holistic enrichment of students.
Newports Institute understands the growing importance of the different channels of media. For the development of Voice Control, Technical Expertise, General Knowledge, Soft Skills and Academic Social Corporate, Newports Institute Web Radio is an excellent and informative communication tool for the latest news.
Content is integral to Media & Communication; there can be no heed without substance. The Newports Institute Newsletter aims to act as a platform to encourage improvement in writing skills and as a medium for the expression of ideas. It has been cultivated as a way for the development of Articles, Interviews, Columns, Poetry, and Literatures. The Newports Institute Newsletter has been planned to be widely circulated and reach beyond its stakeholders.
Newports Institute of Communications and Economics understands the need of mixing extra-curricular with academics to make sure that students grow in all aspects and offers different student clubs and societies to its students.
USAID Program through DAI Pakistan joined hands with Newports Institute the development of extra-curricular facilities for its student by indulging skilled instructors from institutions such as PILERS for Arts & Culture Club, MAD School for Music Society, FESF for Corporate Social Responsibility Club, NAPA for Drama Society and Karachi United for Sports Club

Newports Institute consists of a wide range of text and multimedia resources. The library consists of text and reference books, Impact Factor Journals, Newspapers, and Magazines.
Students are provided with around 10,000 books related to different disciplines, which can be borrowed from the library, along with a Wi-Fi facility in an Air-Conditioned room. The institute will also provide PERN facilities for its student.
