GENERAL EXAMINATION RULES

Probation and Withdrawal

If the CGPA of any Undergraduate student falls below 2.00 or any Graduate student falling below 2.50, the student will be put on probation till the awarding of degree. The student must secure the minimum CGPA required to graduate. If the student fails to do so under the maximum given time duration of the degree program, they will be asked to withdraw from the program.

Award of Degree

  • The Undergraduate student shall be awarded the degree if a minimum of 2.00 CGPA is maintained without any ‘F’ grade in any course. The Graduate level student shall be awarded the degree if a minimum of 2.50 CGPA is maintained without any ‘F’ in any course.
  • The student must pass all the courses in the given time duration, clear all dues and have no disciplinary action pending against him/her.
  • The student is required to fill and submit the Degree Supplementary Information Form (DSIF).

Time Limit for Course Drop

  • Students are allowed to drop a course within the first two or three weeks of the commencement of the semester. After this period, the student will not be allowed to drop the course unless there is an exception*.

*Clash in the timetable, Sickness beyond control, etc.

 

Semester Leave / Freezing Semester Policy

 Due to unforeseen circumstances and personal situations beyond students’ control, the student is allowed to drop the course or freeze the semester within the first two weeks of the commencement of the semester.

  • The student is ineligible to apply for drop of a course (s) or freeze the semester after two weeks of the commencement of the semester and shall pay full fees and dues of that semester.
  • If the student has officially dropped the course or freeze the semester, the paid fees for that course or semester, it will be adjusted to the next semester.
  • If a student wants to freeze a semester, a freeze fee of Rs. 6,500/- must be paid.

 

Unfair Means Cases

Any student found giving or receiving assistance, or found guilty of copying from any resource or allowing another candidate to copy from his answer book, or using/attempting to use these or any unfair means, shall be expelled by the Head Supervisor from the examination of that day and subsequent day, if any.

If a student is found in activities such as plagiarism, deception, sabotage, and cheating, the relevant authorities will take the appropriate action as per the policies of the institute.
